History
The agency was established in 1947. Williamson & King Insurance Agency was originally incorporated in 1948 by two home builders, at which time the agency was started. The agency was sold several times over the years before the Vermost family purchased it in 1988 and changed the name to Williamson-Vermost Agency. The name was officially changed to Vermost & Associates in 2000. In 2006, Darren purchased the remaining stock from his father and took over as President of the agency.
In 2009, Vermost & Associates merged with Mutual Insurance Agency at Clearwater, Inc. Although the merged entity was originally co-owned by Darren Vermost and John B. Gay III, it is now solely owned by Darren Vermost.
On May 1, 2011, we moved to our present location – 1200 Belcher Road South, Suite 1, Largo, FL 33771, expanding yet again and adding staff to handle our growth. Currently, our 12 licensed team members actively work to help protect our client’s financial future.
